The AC joint is found at the top shoulder and forms the junction between the top of the shoulder blade and the collarbone. This joint allows us to lift our arms up over our heads. Injuries to this joint are more common in the younger and also the athletic population. Injuries can range from sprains and dislocations to arthritis’. These injuries often happen as a result of falls, trauma to the area and/or overuse. Symptoms include pain as well as instability at the top of the shoulder.
